Having read many books on the power of the subconscious mind and practicing this philosophy, I can write without hesitation that this classic is one of the best. Joseph Murphy was an exceptional teacher who truly understood what it takes to create our own reality through our thoughts.Our subconscious thoughts create the world around us, and the only way to harness this creative power is by reprogramming the subconscious mind. Self talk is one of the avenues through which we do that. I have been successfully manifesting my desires for over five years and eliminating many of the negative beliefs and emotions that have plagued me my entire life.This book draws its wisdom from the Bible, because the Bible is a collection of spiritual writings by enlightened humans about the consciousness of man, not rules and regulations for pleasing a wrathful God. God is that consciousness within all men--what physicist Max Planck called "Mind"--not an old man sitting on the throne in the sky. At no point did any of the descriptions I read about this book mention that references to the Bible, god, and prayer would be on every third page. Very disappointed that the description on the book does not indicate the strong religious tones. I will be returning it with only having skimmed it because of all the above mentioned references that popped out to me while scanning the pages.
